GCRA-What is it?

The Greater Cabarrus Reading Association is a group of people who are dedicated to promoting literacy in Cabarrus County.
We reach out to our community with free events such as "Seuss at Mall" that celebrates Dr. Seuss and promotes reading to children of all ages.

We encourage creative writing through our annual Young Authors writing contest.
We provide professional development for educators, parents, and those interested through sessions, mini-conferences, and guest authors.  If you are interested in promoting literacy in Cabarrus County, we want you to join us!
For more information, please e-mail any board member below.

Note to Representatives:

Reps- now is the time to begin recruiting members fro the 2011-2012 school year. Some ways to promote GCRA are to ask for a few moments to speak at your next staff meeting. Tell your colleagues of some of the great things that GCRA does such as Seuss at the Mall, Young Authors, Mini-Conferences, Visits from Scholastic, etc.

OR

If you can't get a few minutes at the staff meeting, create a flyer to hand out to each person or a PowerPoint presentation that can be attached to e-mail. Whatever way works, go for it!

Finally, remind folks that joining GCRA automatically makes one a member of NCRA!
